Happy Summer

Homespun
While we have been enjoying wonderful
weather in San Francisco, our hearts go out to the folks dealing
with horrible storms, flooding and fires around the rest of the
country. It has been difficult to even imagine so many of the
places that we regularly travel to being so devastated. May
you all have a speedy recovery.
Registration for the Golden Gate Fiber Institute Summer 2008
Intensive is moving along and some of the classes are almost full.
I have started working on the teacher list for the Winter
2009 Intensive, January 5 - 11. Registration and class information
is available at

Wondrous spindles and fiber have recently graced our door. A box
arrived recently from Gilbert Gonsolves, maker of the Robin Spinning
Wheels and in it are a batch of new
Lily Spindles. They are truly beautiful and they spin
forever! I have a HUGE bag of
Bison Roving and from Judith MacKenzie McCuin and Buffalo
Gals and a sample of Judith's new yarns - one called Homage to the
New World - 50/50 Bison and Alpaca and a lovely 2 ply Bison/Merino
in both natural and dyed colors! The
Bison Yarn from Buffalo Gals and Buffalo Gold is finally here and available online. And at long last we have
Qiviut from Windy Valley MuskOx. We have 100% Qiviut and
a fabulous Qiviut/Silk blend.
As far as personal
projects - i am knitting a Kathryn Alexander Designs vest and
learning about entrelac in the process and i am working on my sample
gamp for my weaving class with Judith in March.
Through the winter
we will be working on the website and the on line store (and
hopefully our new 2008 CD catalog!) As you are wandering through the
